In childhood she was admitted to the hospital for about 6 months, and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. His career as a skater with compatriot Denis Samokhin made him famous. Both pairs competed in the Junior World Championships, where they finished 8th and 7th and seventh respectively in 1993. Her first collaboration was in 1994 with Maxim Kachanov. Together, the duo placed fifth in the Goodwill Games 1994. Their partnership proved equally successful in that they were awarded the Finlandia Trophy twice and also competed at the Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Together they achieved greater things but the high point of their partnership was when they placed 15th in the 1998 World Championships.
